Storm

The inner and outer storms can burden.  The inner storm more so.  Still look in between the chaos and see the beauty of the storm clouds or the reflections in the puddles that surround.

Wings

We have wings to fly, yet they get weighted down by the anxiousness of life.  It seems any time I forget to worry I see the most amazing things like sun reflecting off a tree or a child's hand in it's Moms' or the moon slowly drifting out of a cloud making a rainbow (moon-bow?) in the cloud.  Hum, how does one allow themselves to see all this and still get the tasks of life done?

Tree

There is this tree I can see from the window above the sink in the kitchen. It is my connection to beauty for it is ever changing, the leaves come and go with the seasons, the light dances with it from dull muted tones to full blown fire in the November evening.  When life is frantic or confusing or just too ordinary, catching a glimpse of the tree brings me back to quiet, peace and wonder: if only for a nano second. Wanna see another tree? Check this out: http://infullblooom.blogspot.com/2012/11/cutie-tree.html

Shy

Somehow shy is often thought to be something to be fixed.  True shy can get in the way of doing the things you want to do, but shy is undervalued for the shy person is often the most observant, thoughtful, insightful person.  Trouble is that the celebrated Big, bold, loud, rarely stops to notice.  If big and bold sees it’s only to tell shy to "not be shy" which of course only makes shy retreat.  In the quiet are where the solutions are found and the course can be corrected to a true setting.  So, be kind to the shy and listen for if allowed to speak they will tell you amazing things.

Imagination

It bubbles up when there is time and space and when the pressures of the world are to great to bear.  Oh the world is so dry when it leaves for a while, but, like the tides,  it  flows back in just when you need it the most.

Teacher & It's (not) on the Syllabus

I use the same syllabus that I give to the students. Mine looks a little different at the end of the semester.

Freeze

All week I've been frozen by the heat. Paradoxically the anti-freeze is Foster Freeze. At least that's all my mind will think.

Bounce

Antone wondered why this angel kept bouncing off his head.
Was it  trying to tell him something or was it just having a good time? or both?

Bong, bong, bong, goes the bounce of life through the August heat.

Lonely

There a big difference between alone and lonely.  Alone can be lonely however it can be a nice quiet peaceful experience too. Lonely engenders a longing, a missing part, a wanting of something that you do not have.  It could be a friend, a lover, a companion. a relationship with something more than yourself.  Our consumer culture loves this for advertising wants to rush in to fill this need with pointed smiles and products promising a smell that attracts or a diet that thins to the desire of others.  Funny how, when you are in a lonely mood, that the pointed smiles hurt, driving you deeper into the lonely mood thus needing more of the right deodorant or right car or right food.  It seems that finding a way to share, not consume is a bigger, better, new and improved cure for loneliness. And it is less taxing on the pocket book.
